Wellness Fun-For-All at Central Community House – 3/10/18

March 10 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join Columbus Gives Back and the Central Community House for one of their Wellness Fun-for-All Saturdays! These are open-to-the-community events comprised of engaging and healthy activities on the 2nd and 4th Saturdys of the month. Even more, Central Community House takes this time to provide free child care for parents participating in the activities or who need the time to take care of other business!

This Saturday features a Parenting Support with Alice Daniels (10am-11:30am), a men’s group with Pastor Juan Brady (10am-11:30am), stretch yoga with Michele Winship (10:15am-11:15am), a healthy urban environment talk with the Sierra Club (11:45am-1:00pm) and line dancing (11:45am-12:45pm)!

What: Volunteers are encouraged to participate in any of the activities while alternating with cleaning projects. So you might do yoga and then work in the garden beds, or you might pick up trash and then assist with the line dancing class! The structure is fluid, because not only are we helping beautify the House and its surroundings, but we want to spend time with the community it supports!

When: Saturday, March 10th 10am – 1pm

Where: Central Community House, 1150 E. Main St. Columbus, OH 43205

Event Leader: evan@columbusgivesback.org

About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back makes volunteering easy and fun for working professionals in Central Ohio! All of our events are open to anyone over 21 years old — simply find and sign up for an event that interests you. Once a month (at least!) we hold happy hours in partnership with other nonprofit organizations. Come see the great work that is being done right here in Columbus!

About the Central Community House: Central Community House is a source of support and a community home for the children, families and seniors living in the near east and near south areas of Columbus. Within our full-service community center, people of all ages come together to learn, play, share their gifts and find assistance when needed. From our public Computer Lab to monthly Community Dinners, services are designed to aid individuals in living self-sufficiently while adding to the overall quality of life in our neighborhood. Calling the 43205 zip code home (which stretches from I-71 east of downtown to Nelson Road and from Broad Street south to Whittier Avenue), nearly half of occupied households live below the Federal Poverty Line.
