Where are you from? Stow, OH

Why CGB? I have lived in Columbus for a few years now, and it is finally starting to feel like home. I believe becoming part of a community involves making it a better place, and the volunteer opportunities through CGB really give me a way to feel connected, get to know this city, and help make it better-one event at a time!

What is your favorite event? Game night at the YMCA-it’s a chance to connect with the volunteers and the residents in a different way. We always have a great time and gives everyone a night to just relax and have fun.

Fun Fact? I was born on April Fools day ūüôā

Andy Durczynski – Director of Finance and Development

Why CGB? I love the wide variety of events and the diverse group of people that attend them. I have met a lot of great people that share the same passion as me, to give back to Columbus.

What is your favorite event? Faith Mission. I love the interaction with everyone.

Fun Fact? I love running and have done numerous half marathons and a Full Marathon


Paul Dalsky – Chief Information Officer



Where are you from? Massillon, Ohio

Why CGB?¬†I moved to Columbus right after graduating from college, and I knew almost no one here. It’s a lot harder to meet people once you live in the real world, and one day I decided to stop sitting around and do something about it. I decided that anyone I would meet through volunteering would be a great person to know.

What is your favorite event?¬†Definitely LifeCare Alliance. It was my first event and I love the behind-the-scenes way of helping people. Plus, it’s really close to the Columbus Brewing Company!

Fun Fact?¬†While at BGSU, I biked 180-miles from Cincinnati to Bowling Green to raise money for Toledo Children’s Hospital. I completed the trip four times!


Caleb Miller- Director of Outreach

Where are you from? I call Pittsburgh, PA home.

Why CGB? CGB holds a special place in my heart.  I enjoy spending a few hours each month doing something positive in the community, but more than anything I love being around so many positive, inspirational people that truly help me be a better person.

What is your favorite event? I never miss the monthly event at the Heinzerling Foundation. I always feel very humbled after leaving that special place.

Fun Fact? As a child, I taught myself how to juggle and would dazzle my family members and friends with mini performances.


 Diana Lolli- Director of Marketing and Communications

Where are you from?
Columbus, OH.

Why CGB?
After graduating college, I wanted to learn more about Columbus, find volunteer opportunities I could commit to, and surround myself with inspiring new people. CGB does all of this and more – their system is that smooth.

What is your favorite event?
Volunteering at the Linden Community Garden Party. We thought we’d be helping assist children fair games, but instead were asked to weed the gardens and plant rows and rows of lilies. We made the best of it and I left feeling like I connected more with the community and made an even bigger difference than I thought I would!

Fun Fact?
During my first and only trip to France, I danced in front of the Eiffel Tower as part of a flash mob.


Taylor Putnam¬†–¬†Social Director

Where are you from? McLean, VA

Why CGB?¬†I’ve always enjoyed volunteering, so when I moved to Columbus I was looking for some opportunities to get involved. ¬†I really like Columbus Gives Back because it has exposed me to a lot of different organizations within the community, and I’ve met some really great people as well.

What is your favorite event? YMCA Game Night

Fun Fact? I really like drinking tea


Caroline Chao – Event Leader

Where are you from? Dublin, Ohio

Why CGB? I joined Columbus Gives Back because I wanted to make a difference in the community. I stayed with Columbus Gives Back because it is a community that I am proud to be a member.

What is your favorite event? I really enjoy volunteering for Columbus SOUP.

Fun Fact? I coach lacrosse and ice skating.

Evan Miller –¬†Event Leader

Where are you from? Wooster, OH

Why CGB? I like CGB because it is a good way to get out of my comfort zone and get to know organizations that work with all kinds of groups of people in the city.

What is your favorite event? The YWCA lunch is my favorite because it’s really inspiring to see how significantly they are able to support the families they work with.

Fun Fact? I am into trying weird food combinations and one of my favorites recently is dipping cold pizza in hummus.


Liz Martin РEvent Leader

Where are you from? Brunswick, OH

Why CGB? CGB fits into my schedule and makes volunteering fun and not a burden. I meet great people at the events, some who have become dear friends thanks to CGB’s social twist.

What is your favorite event? My favorite is serving dinner at Faith Mission. I’ve always wanted to try being a waitress and that’s about as close as I can get to that dream!

Fun Fact? I have backyard chickens!


Curt Roginski – Event Leader

curt_cgbWhere are you from?  I am from Perrysburg, OH which is just outside of Toledo. I came to Columbus for college and I was so fascinated with the city I stayed.

Why CGB? CGB is the perfect match because I wanted to volunteer and experience new events. The variety makes it fun and the events are so easy to sign up for. The social twist is a great way to get to know the other volunteers and enjoy a great meal!

What is your favorite event? Columbus Soup has been my favorite event so far. So many people came together to help others and donate their time and money that it makes me proud to live in such a great city and give back!

Fun Fact? A fun fact is that I learned how to speak Zulu for my college language requirement. Ngikhuluma isiZulu ntambama.


 Brittany Peterson- Event Leader

brittWhere are you from? Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but grew up in Johnstown, Ohio.

Why CGB? It is a great way to feel more connected to our city and meet new people.

What is your favorite event? My favorite event was attending a Friday night dance with participants of Franklin County Recreation at West Central School.

Fun Fact? I’m always up for a weekend getaway! In the last year I have been to Chicago, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, New Orleans, the Carribbean, Toronto, and Las Vegas! In the next couple months I have trips planned to the ATL and back to New Orleans.


Gwen Burkey –¬†Event Leader


Where are you from? Vestal, NY

Why CGB?¬†I love Columbus Gives Back because it has been a great way to make friends in a new city while helping out the community around us. The type of people that want to sacrifice their time to help out others in need are definitely the kind of people I want to be around. Plus, it’s been a great way to see what all Columbus has to offer!

What is your favorite event? My favorite events are YMCA game night and any of the Arthritis Foundation events.

Fun Fact? I love to knit and crochet!


 Shannon Flynn- Event Leader

Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Columbus.

Why CGB?
I love volunteering and meeting new people, so CGB seemed like the perfect fit. I fell in love with the group after a few events because everyone is so kind and passionate. It’s more than just a group. It’s a family of like-minded people who want to make a difference in the world.

What is your favorite event?
I always enjoy volunteering at Columbus SOUP and I’m also a big fan of the cookie baking event at Ronald McDonald House.

Fun Fact?
I’m a freelance writer and I’m working on my first novel. Also, I really want to visit Indonesia!

Why CGB? I enjoy the opportunity to meet new people while giving back to the community.

What is your favorite event? Serving lunch at YWCA Family Center.

Fun Fact? I have had a lifelong passion for storytelling.



John Hamulak – Event Leader

Where are you from? ¬†I’m from Cleveland, Ohio

Why CGB? I’m passionate about helping people in the community and CGB allows me to do that and meet some fantastic people at the same time.

What is your favorite event? Meals on Wheels for LifeCare Alliance

Fun Fact? I’m training for my first triathlon


 Tom Middleton РEvent Leader

Where are you from?¬†I’m from Dayton, Ohio.

Why CGB?
Three reasons CGB is swell: (1) Great events in which our volunteering assistance is needed and appreciated, (2) CGB is well organized and they make it super easy to sign up, and (3) very friendly CGB organizers and the social element after is always gravy.

What is your favorite event?
Hmmmm so many to choose from! As for the recurring events – I’m a fan of the Faith Mission meal serving at the soup kitchen. My favorite single event is maybe between the Clintonville Adventure thing that was like a mini-Amazing Race, or the Christmas-time event in which we constructed sleighs for kids.

Fun Fact?
I once lost a set of keys in the Mall of America and then spent HOURS trying to track them down. And sometimes my coworkers call me Twix.


Andee Boiman – Event Leader

Where are you from? I was born in Long Island, NY, but grew up in Las Vegas, NV. I consider Vegas home.

Why CGB? As a newcomer to Columbus, I discovered CGB was a great way to learn more about my new city, understand the needs of the community, and the opportunity to meet new people who share a similar passion to give back and make our community a better place.

What is your favorite event? Community Gardening with Local Matters

Fun Fact? I was my college mascot (Denver University). Go Pioneers!


Richard Sanders – Event Leader

Where are you from?  I live Columbus Currently but I grew up in Piketon, OH.

Why CGB? This group helped me get more involved with my city while also meeting some really great people. When I first moved to Columbus, I didn’t really know anyone and felt almost in solitude, CGB helped me get out of my shell and explore more of Columbus. I’ve made some really great friends while also giving back to my city.

What is your favorite event? Either serving lunch at the YWCA on Sundays or game night at the Heinzerling Foundation

Fun Fact? I know how to make a mean apple pie!
