Thank you for your interest in joining the Columbus Gives Back board! Now more than ever, we are seeking awesome people to jump in, ideate and plan initiatives while our event count and in-person volunteering is lower than usual.  Here’s a little more about us and what we stand for.

Board Member, Media + Marketing

  • Produce relevant and engaging content about Columbus Gives Back across social media channels, creating and sustaining a brand voice

  • Collect event photos, and choose when and how to post
  • Grow social media following for each managed profile
  • Monitor commentary and inquiries on our website and social media profiles
  • Manage marketing merchandise (t-shirts, business cards, etc.)

Board Member, Website + Communication

  • Keep website updated including all page content & photos

    • Add Volunteer events
    • Add new Features / Articles
    • SEO
    • Continue to find new ways for content to be engaging to volunteers and non-profits
  • Create + send targeted communications (i.e. email, press releases, etc.)

Board Member, Event Leader Engagement + Oversight

  • Manage event leader training and development

  • Schedule social and development-focused team events
  • Develop guidelines to assist event leaders with communications
  • Create living document to facilitate event leader logistics
  • Mediate conflict and serve as a resource for event leaders who would like to discuss challenges encountered while volunteering
  • Provide or ensure proper legal oversight and risk management for Columbus Gives Back, volunteers, event leaders and CGB at large

Board Member, Outreach + Community Partnerships

  • Develop new ways to attract volunteers

  • Identify community partnerships for events and promotions
  • Attend external events quarterly to promote CGB
  • Work with Nonprofit Relationships-focused board member on happy hours
  • Work with Media & Communications-focused board member on public relations

GENERAL BOARD RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ALL MEMBERS:

  • Attend 10 of the 12 monthly board meeting each year
  • Lead 18 volunteer events per year (this is on hold during COVID)
  • Attend 4 happy hours per year (this is on hold during COVID)
  • Be a brand ambassador promoting CGB and our values every day
  • Complete all assigned action items within a reasonable timeframe
