About Prevention Action Alliance: Prevention Action Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Ohio dedicated to leading healthy communities in the prevention of substance misuse and the promotion of mental health wellness. They offer several programs and networks aimed at preventing substance misuse across the state and beyond while our staff, board of directors, and partners provide the hard work, leadership, and funding needed to make communities safer and healthier.

One of those networks, is The G.A.P Network. Tens of thousands of Ohio families have faced the challenges of substance misuse. Thousands of them have suffered devastating losses because of it. The current numbers have gotten worse from last year – 14 Ohioans are lost due to substance overdose every day. That means the families and communities that lost a loved one are increasing at an alarming rate. Many have decided to turn their grief into action and turn to The G.A.P. Network for guidance and support.

The G.A.P. Network was created to bring information, education, advocacy opportunities, networking, and support to individuals who have lost loved ones to overdose and family engagement groups that are working to end addiction to prescription drugs and opiates in Ohio.

The network gives a voice to shattered families, provides needed support, and works diligently together to raise awareness, advocate for change, and impact policies that can save more Ohio families from the devastation of drug addiction.

One of the free services that The G.A.P. Network offers is a tangible grief resource folder that educates families and community members on what grief and other emotions they are feeling, what addiction and Substance Use Disorder truly are, all mediums to access vetted and credible information: YouTube videos, books, online forums, blogs, Facebook support groups, and any local support groups that focus on overdose loss. The folders are requested all across Ohio at libraries, hospitals, funeral homes, community centers, faith-based organizations, fire stations, police departments, etc.. We need your help to fulfill the requests of families devastated by this Opioid Epidemic.
