A Soldier’s Child (ASC) Foundation, Venture Express and Owens & Minor have partnered together to bring smiles and birthday boxes full of gifts to children who have lost a parent during active military service. And Columbus Gives Back is excited to be a part of the event by providing volunteers!
Every year on their birthday ASC children receive a big brown box in the mail, decorated with drawings, kind words and the famous “Do not open until child’s birthday.” Inside are purple wrapped gifts with shiny silver ribbon and gold bows. We have heard from so many parents and children how much they adore getting their box! All wrapping supplies are provided as well as instructions.
What: Volunteers will wrap gifts, then grab some markers and decorate the outside of the box! We ask that you bring your mad wrapping skills, your artistic flair, have fun, and be creative!
Where: 2820 Global Court, Lockbourne, OH 43137
When: Saturday, July 20th from 8:00am – 11:00am. Sign up for our second shift here!

About A Soldier’s Child: Our mission is to serve the Children of ALL fallen military personnel, who have lost their lives on active duty, and post service related deaths that were due to a service related injury or illness. A Soldier’s Child (ASC) Foundation honors the children of our fallen American defenders of freedom by celebrating their birthday every year through the age of 18. ASC holds numerous camps throughout the year for ASC kids that are ages 9-16 and for our PS23 mentors that are 17 and older. ASC also facilitates secondary/college scholarships for our ASC recipients in our program.
#SocialTwist: We encourage our volunteers to join us afterwards for food and drinks to get to know our other cool volunteers like you!
