Join Columbus Gives Back to serve residents around the Columbus Area at Broad Street Food Pantry. This is a tremendously rewarding experience that allows us to provide such an essential service to individuals and families in need.
Where: Broad Street Food Pantry, 760 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43215
When: Thursday, March 12th, 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM.
Event Leaders: firstname.lastname@example.org
What we will be doing: Assisting clients as they shop the choice pantry – help them select from available items, enforcing limits as necessary, offering suggestions for recipes and ways to use new foods. Work one on one with the clients as they shop and assist them to their vehicle. Assist with set up, clean up and stock work as needed. Enjoy meeting our neighbors and hearing their stories!
Grocery Bags: Since shoppers leave the pantry with their items in grocery bags, please bring any extra plastic grocery bags that you might have around the home!
About the Broad Street Food Pantry: The Broad Street Food Pantry is dedicated to providing food to our urban neighbors who are hungry. Addressing the most basic human need, the pantry helps individuals and families put meals on their tables—providing food for their bodies, relief to their minds, and nourishment for their souls. They believe that engaging with and investing in our local community provides immeasurable return and dedicate their resources to nurturing our neighbors in need.
About #CbusGivesBack: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals.
#Socialtwist: We will have dinner/drinks somewhere to celebrate our volunteering!
Cancellation Policy: Due to the nature of our events, an accurate headcount is important. Please contact one of the event coordinators if you have RSVP’ed but are unable to attend this event.
