The Columbus Coalition for the Homeless will be co-hosting as beneficiaries of the 2019 Marsha Donner Mother’s Day Brunch at L A Catering, for which all homeless and recently homeless mothers and their families are invited to be treated with an elegant meal served to them. There will be many extra special services, including flowers, gift and favor bags, keepsake photos, children’s books, and more.
What We’ll Be Doing: The majority of volunteers will be serving food to mothers and their families and acting as hosts/hostesses. There will be additional tasks assigned to volunteers upon arrival – please be aware that we may ask you to change duties or be flexible during the event itself, so that we can fill gaps where necessary and best serve everyone in attendance. All volunteer assignments will be given upon arrival, with the exception of volunteers who require specific accomodations.
What to Bring: Volunteers are encouraged to bring loose flowers and flower arrangements that can be taken apart and made into smaller arrangements. Fresh cut from your garden are okay too! If you have any pruning shears or scissors to cut flowers, that would be great, too!
Where: LA Catering – 670 Harmon Ave., Columbus, OH 43223. Parking is directly adjacent to the building and free.
When: Sunday, May 12th, 10:15am-1:30pm
Event Leaders: email@example.com
What to Wear: Business casual attire. Please no sweatpants, sweatshirts, graphic tshirts, etc. We want this to be an elegant affair for the mothers and their families. However – comfy shoes are okay! Feel free to wear tennis shoes or walking shoes, as volunteers will be on their feet for the event.
About the Columbus Coalition for the Homeless: The mission of the coalition is to empower homeless persons to achieve greater self-sufficiency, to advocate on behalf of homeless persons and organizations that serve them; and to work together to educate the central Ohio community about the devastating effects of homelessness upon individuals and families.
About Columbus Gives Back: We love Columbus, young professionals, and getting involved! Our mission is to connect young professionals across central Ohio and engage them in our communities through 35-40 social volunteer and philanthropic opportunities per month.
#SocialTwist: After the event, we encourage you to join us for food or drinks and have fun with other cool volunteers like you!
Cancellation Policy: Due to the nature of our events, please let your event leader know if you are no longer able to make it so that we can open up the spots to other volunteers. Thanks!
