Columbus Gives Back invites you to join us for our first-ever event with the SOAP Project (Save our Adolescents from Prostitution). Their mission deals with anti-trafficking efforts doing SOAP Outreaches around the country (for example passing our information to area hotels in preparation for the Arnold Classic and in Miami for the Super Bowl). Each year they host an event called the Liberators, which honors those for their work in the community.
What: Staffing the photo booth, ring toss, helping direct guests to their tables, possibly with registration
When: Saturday, March 7th from 4:30pm – 6:30pm.
Event Leaders: email@example.com
What to Wear: Business attire
The SOAP Project was founded by author, advocate and survivor, Theresa Flores. On her worst night, after being auctioned off to nearly two dozen men in a dingy, dirty, inner city Detroit motel, Theresa recalled the only item that would have reached out to her, a bar of soap. With that in mind, she created The SOAP Project — Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution — to help reach out to other victims.
The SOAP Project is specifically focused on educating and increasing awareness in the public on the prevalence of human trafficking, in order to restore trafficked survivors and to prevent teens from being victimized by domestic, minor, sex trafficking.
About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals.
After the Event: Please join us for some food and drinks after the event at a nearby restaurant for our #socialtwist
Cancellation Policy: Due to the nature of our events, an accurate headcount is important. Please contact one of the event coordinators if you have RSVP’ed but are unable to attend this event.
