Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, and if you have extra garden tools (hand trowels, shovels) that we can use on Saturday, please bring them!

Event Leaders: email@example.com
Where: Goodale Park,120 West Goodale Blvd Columbus, OH 43212. Parking: There is a small lot on the west side of the park (near the corner of Dennison and Poplar). How to find the group: All volunteers will check in at the shelter house, located at the center of the park. The event leaders from Columbus Gives Back will be there to meet you. We will be with other volunteers from Friends of Goodale Park.
COVID-19 Precautions: All Columbus Gives Back volunteers are required to wear face masks and observe social distancing as appropriate to complete volunteer tasks. Volunteers who are sick, especially with fever or the growing number of Covid-19 symptoms, should stay home. We highly recommend that our volunteers wash their hands, use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of the event, and/or wear gloves. We will follow whatever safety policy our nonprofit partners have in addition to the safety precautions listed above. Any volunteers determined to neglect these precautions and put other volunteers or the people we serve at risk will be dismissed from the event.
About Friends of Goodale Park: The Friends of Goodale Park formed in 1987 in realization that the surrounding community needed to take greater responsibility to nurture and support Goodale Park. A devastating summer storm had destroyed many of the park’s older trees so the Friends raised funds to purchase over 300 trees. In subsequent years, the Friends have undertaken many projects to restore, improve and maintain this gem of an urban park. Lighting, benches and trash receptacles have been added; a gazebo and expanded shelter house have been constructed; sidewalks and playgrounds have been updated, and more trees have been planted.
About Columbus Gives Back: We love Columbus, young professionals, and getting involved! Our mission is to connect young professionals across central Ohio and engage them in our communities through 35-40 social volunteer and philanthropic opportunities per month.
#SocialTwist: Social Twists have been suspended until further notice, but typically we will also encourage volunteers to join us afterwards for food and drinks to better get to know the other cool folks in our group! Rather we encourage each of our volunteers to support local business during this time.
